100% cpu usage when doing nothing on Macbook pro OSX duo dual (os is opensolatis 2008.05)

virtual box 1.6.2 on Mac book pro (latest update), dual core duo processor. opensolaris 2008.05 installed and upgraded to build 90.

when opensolaris is booted in the vm (and then does nothing), virtualbox process takes almost 100% of a CPU.

I've seen many other reports, talking about a few workarounds including processor affinity but I can't control affinity on mac.

So bottom line, virtualbox/opensolaris on mac in not usable at all.

I can confirm this with Hardy as Host.

Host : Hardy Heron fully updated.
VBox : 1.6.2.
Guest : OpenSolaris 2008.05 with Guest Additions installed.

VM info :

• RAM : 512M
• Video Memory : 16M
• ACPI : Enabled
• IO APIC, VT-x/AMD-V & PAE/NX : Disabled
• Audio : ICH AC97
• Network : Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (NAT)
• Serial ports & USB : Disabled

Using the LiveCD or installed OpneSolaris via VBox -> 100% CPU Usage.
Note that booting from the LiveCD is just fine!

Please reopen if the same problem persists with VirtualBox 2.2.2.

This is happening with VirtualBox 3.0.4 on OSX 10.5.6 with Win7 as a Guest.

If mac osx is guest, it has problems with virtual processor that does not implement power saving stuff. Disable AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement to solve the problem.
