No Xorg guest additions in Ubuntu Intrepid / Fedora9 => Fixed with 2.0.2.

描述
When trying to install the guest additions under Ubuntu Intrepid as guest, the kernel modules build and install fine, but I get this when the installer gets to the Xorg modules:
Detected xorg 1.5 rcx, refusing to install the xorg modules. We will provide updated guest additions once xorg 1.5.0 was released finally.
Any idea when this will be fixed?

Xorg 1.5 has some major changes in handling mouse devices which is currently a showstopper for porting the VBoxMouse driver.

So what about the auto-resize feature? Could the display driver be enabled separately to the mouse driver?

In fact, with 2.0.2 the mouse integration will work but the dynamic resizing will not work for Fedora9 (it will work for Ubuntu Intrepid). The problem with Fedora9 is that they use Xorg 1.5.0 RC5 which contains a bug making the Xorg server crash under certain conditions. We disabled the dynamic resizing feature for this Xorg version (we filed a bug report to Fedora as well). As soon as they upgrade to at least RC6, dynamic resizing should work as well.

Why was this marked as fixed? I just installed a new copy (v2.02) today and it's still not working.

xorg 1.5.0 is surely released so that shouldn't be an issue. In Ubuntu Intrepid there now xserver-xorg-core 1.5.2-2ubuntu1.

How do I unsubscribe from this bug? Yeez how Trac sucks compared to Launchpad (or the VirtualBox teams implementation of it..)

cdukes: which of those two guest systems are you using, and what exactly is not working? ThomasNovin: I don't think that is possible, but I will see what I can do. We did not actually implement anything ourselves, but just used trac as is (we prefer to spend as much development time as possible on VirtualBox itself) and Launchpad is not yet open source.

The guest is Ubuntu Intrepid, the host is XP Pro SP3

Oops, sorry I missed that :-) I'm unable to resize the guest or use seamless mode.

What output does "xrandr" produce if you run it in a console window in the guest? Seamless works fine here in an Ubuntu Intrepid guest.

Sorry, I gave up and moved on... I'm installing Ubuntu this weekend and dumping windows altogether.

I will mark this as fixed again, since all cases that we were able to pursue were fixed. I suspect that you had modeline entries in the guest's xorg.conf file, which can interfere with dynamic resizing.
Isn't there any workaround to install it anyway? I'm also using Intrepid.
