guest additions does not work on CentOS X86_64

X11 crashed and guest OS halted frequently after guest addtions installed. both virtualbox 3.0.6 and 3.0.8 has same problem. guest OS is CentOS 4.8 X86_64 edition (i have tried CentOS 4.6 X86_64, the peoblem does not resolved. but CentOS 4.6 32bit edition works OK). host OS is Windows 7 ultimate build 7600 16384 64bit edition, hardware platform is lenovo thinkpad T61p 6457ak1.
